🎯 About the Role
As an eCommerce Test Expert, you will support the product and engineering teams by ensuring that every feature, enhancement, and release delivers the highest quality user experience. This role places you at the center of Alcon’s digital transformation efforts, especially within its rapidly evolving eCommerce landscape.
You will work closely with Product Owners, Solution Teams, and Engineering to translate legacy requirements into modern artifacts, define test criteria for user stories, build traceable test documentation, and automate where possible. This position is ideal for someone who wants to refine their testing skills, explore automation, and grow into advanced engineering roles.
🛠 Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:

Analyzing legacy requirements and test cases and transforming them into updated, modern software artifacts aligned with today’s engineering standards.

Defining User Story acceptance criteria, authoring test cases, and executing different testing phases—including dry runs, regression, smoke, sanity, and formal testing.

Establishing traceability between requirements, test cases, and implementation to ensure complete and accurate coverage.

Using tools such as Azure DevOps and Polarion for documentation, requirement tracking, and test lifecycle management.

Applying Python scripting or similar scripting languages to automate test scenarios and streamline repetitive processes.

Collaborating with cross-functional partners to ensure alignment, transparency, and continuity throughout the software development lifecycle.

Identifying gaps, analyzing defects, and championing the user experience to ensure the highest product quality.

Ensuring timely documentation, detailed reporting, and adherence to defined engineering practices.
🧠 Required Skills & Experience
Educational Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Technical Skills

Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and requirement management practices.

Basic experience with Python scripting or any other automation scripting language.

Familiarity with tools like Azure DevOps and Polarion (preferred).

Understanding of OOP concepts in any relevant programming language.
