🎯 About the Role
As a Software Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and scaling internal security automation and tooling that protects Meesho’s applications and infrastructure. This role goes beyond operating security tools—you will engineer them from scratch.
You will collaborate closely with platform, SRE, and product engineering teams to integrate security directly into development workflows. The goal is to ensure security is embedded into the SDLC, CI/CD pipelines, and runtime environments—providing developers with actionable feedback through code, not manual tickets.
🛠 Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
🔐 Security Tooling & Automation
Build and maintain internal tools for SAST, DAST, SCA, and secrets detection
Automate repetitive security testing workflows using Python, Go, or Node.js
Develop APIs and dashboards that provide real-time security insights
Integrate security gates within CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or ArgoCD
💻 Secure Software Development
Write high-quality, production-ready code to enhance application security
Contribute to internal or open-source frameworks for secure code reviews and dependency analysis
Collaborate with developers to design reusable security libraries and SDKs
🧩 Threat Modeling & Design Reviews
Conduct threat modeling for new features and system designs
Translate security findings into scalable engineering controls
Create reusable threat modeling templates that can be applied across teams
🧪 Application Security Testing
Perform and automate security testing for web, API, and mobile applications
Correlate findings from multiple scanners and reduce false positives
Build lightweight validation tools and fuzzers for developer self-testing
🤝 Developer Enablement & Security Culture
Create internal security documentation and learning resources
Conduct workshops and awareness sessions for engineering teams
Identify opportunities to eliminate manual security processes through automation
🧠 Required Skills & Experience
🎓 Education
B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
💼 Experience
Prior exposure to security automation, DevSecOps practices, or internal tooling is highly desirable
🧩 Technical Skills
Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Go, or Node.js (React/TypeScript is a bonus)
Solid understanding of web technologies, REST APIs, and CI/CD workflows
Experience with security tools such as Burp, ZAP, Nuclei, Trivy, or Semgrep
Working knowledge of cloud security fundamentals (AWS or GCP)
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and container security concepts
