🎯 About the Role: Junior Data Analyst (Tax Technology)

The Junior Data Analyst will be responsible for handling, transforming, and analyzing complex accounting datasets using Python and Pandas. This role combines technical data manipulation with practical tax and accounting understanding, enabling you to contribute meaningfully to client projects and internal digital initiatives.

You will support senior analysts and consultants by developing data pipelines, automating data cleaning workflows, and producing visual insights that improve decision-making. In this position, you will work directly with data that impacts tax reporting, financial statements, and compliance processes. Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Perform hands-on data cleaning, transformation, and structuring using Python/Pandas.

• Import and prepare accounting datasets from multiple sources including Excel, SQL databases, APIs, and flat files.

🔹 Automation & Scripting

• Write efficient Python scripts to automate repetitive data preparation tasks.

• Develop reusable data cleaning modules and reconciliation workflows.

🔹 Building Data Pipelines

• Build end-to-end pipelines that ingest, validate, transform, and output financial and tax datasets.

• Integrate data from structured and semi-structured sources.

🔹 Analytical Work

• Apply analytical techniques to identify patterns, inconsistencies, or anomalies within tax and accounting data.

• Perform reconciliations between tax records, financial statements, and accounting journals.

🔹 Reporting & Visualization

• Produce visual dashboards or charts using Python libraries or Excel data tools.

• Present insights clearly to support tax consultants and managers.

🔹 Documentation & Collaboration

• Participate in internal meetings, contribute to technical knowledge-sharing, and prepare documentation for data processes.

• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including tax experts, developers, and data engineers.

🧠 Required Skills & Experience

EY is looking for candidates who bring strong technical capabilities combined with analytical thinking and communication skills.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:

  • Accounting

  • Information Technology

  • Business Analytics

  • Data Science

  • Finance

  • Or a related field

Technical Proficiency

• 1+ year of hands-on Python experience, specifically in data manipulation.

• Demonstrated experience using Pandas, including:

  • DataFrame operations

  • Merging & joining datasets

  • Groupby analysis

  • Handling missing data

  • Data cleaning techniques

• Working knowledge of:

  • SQL queries

  • Relational database structures

  • Excel functions and spreadsheet management

Domain Knowledge

• Basic understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, journals, and tax datasets.

Communication Skills

• Proficiency in French (written & verbal).

• Good command of English, enabling smooth interaction in global teams.
