🎯 About the Role

As an Analyst in Banking Operations, you will contribute to the processing, reviewing, reporting, and issue resolution tasks that power daily banking operations. Your core responsibility is to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant execution of inward and outward payments—including IMPS, NEFT, RTGS, NACH, and cross-border transactions.

This role is highly operational, detail-oriented, and requires adherence to strict timelines, processes, and regulatory guidelines. You will also collaborate with internal teams, support risk management activities, and help improve operational processes across business areas.

🛠 Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

• Execute daily payment transactions (inward/outward, domestic, and cross-border) within defined SLAs.

• Ensure error-free, timely processing of transactions while complying with internal and external guidelines.

• Follow well-defined procedures related to payment schemes including IMPS, NEFT, RTGS, and NACH.

Process & Controls

• Strengthen controls and mitigate risks through diligent process execution.

• Identify policy breaches and escalate them as required.

• Maintain strong awareness of operational risks and ensure all work aligns with regulatory standards.

Coordination & Collaboration

• Work with various teams across Barclays to align and improve operational processes.

• Engage with Front Office and Relationship Manager teams (where applicable) to resolve operational queries.

• Build professional relationships with internal stakeholders to support smooth workflows.

Reporting & Analysis

• Support preparation of operational performance reports and communicate findings effectively.

• Contribute to process reviews and help identify improvement opportunities.

• Assist in creating operational documentation, presentations, and process enhancements.

Customer & Stakeholder Support

• Understand customer needs and deliver high-quality service in line with Barclays’ values.

• Address issues and contribute to timely resolution of discrepancies or operational challenges.

Projects & Initiatives

• Participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing process efficiency, automation, and operational quality.

• Implement best practices by staying informed about industry developments and operational trends.

🧠 Required Skills & Experience

Core Competencies

• Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word.

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

• Fast learner with strong attention to detail and diligence.

• Good analytical thinking and ability to make decisions based on factual information.

Desirable Skills

• Experience in AML / CDD / KYC processes (advantageous but not mandatory).

• Experience interacting with Front Office or RM teams.
