💼 About the Role

As a Security Analyst – Purple Team, you’ll operate at the intersection of offensive (Red Team) and defensive (Blue Team) security. Your role is crucial in strengthening ChargePoint’s security posture by validating defenses, identifying vulnerabilities, and enhancing detection capabilities.

You will work closely with the Product Security Architect and collaborate with cross-functional security teams to ensure the safety and reliability of ChargePoint’s applications, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD pipeline.

⚙️ What You’ll Be Doing

🔹 Offensive & Defensive Security

• Conduct application security assessments and vulnerability scans

• Perform network penetration testing and simulate real-world attacks

• Support cloud security assessments across AWS and GCP

• Validate defensive security controls and monitor detection gaps

🔹 Automation & Documentation

• Develop automation scripts for security testing using Python, Bash, or PowerShell

• Maintain and enhance security testing documentation

• Assist in building and testing WAF (Web Application Firewall) rules

🔹 CI/CD & Workflow Security

• Review GitHub Actions workflows for security risks

• Support secure CI/CD pipeline practices

• Conduct API security testing and identify vulnerabilities

🔹 Collaboration

• Work hand-in-hand with the Blue Team to enhance detection mechanisms

• Participate in security improvements across infrastructure and applications

🧠 What They’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Software Engineering or related fields

• 1–3 years of experience in information security

• Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10 and web app security

• Familiarity with tools like Burp Suite, Nmap, Metasploit

• Scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell)

• Basic cloud knowledge (AWS/GCP)

• Understanding of WAF concepts & evasion techniques

• Experience with Windows domain environments

• GitHub Actions security awareness

• Good analytical, communication, and documentation capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Security certifications: CEH, Security+, eJPT, etc.

• Experience in CI/CD security

• Knowledge of containerization and container security

• Experience with WAF solutions like AWS WAF or Cloudflare
