🎯 About the Role

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing scalable data pipelines, structuring datasets, and enabling advanced analytics across enterprise environments. Your work directly supports the business’s ability to perform operational reporting, predictive modeling, and data science initiatives.

This role requires expertise in ETL development, cloud-based data integrations, data modeling, and the ability to transform disparate data sources into reliable structures. 🛠 Key Responsibilities

Data Modeling & Architecture

You will develop and maintain structured data models that support decision-making across the organization. This includes converting logical and conceptual data models into physical database schemas while adhering to design constraints and architectural principles.

ETL Development & Data Pipelines

Designing and building scalable ETL processes is a core responsibility. You will use tools such as Azure Data Factory, SAP Data Services, SAP BTP, and SQL-based frameworks. You’ll work on extracting data from diverse sources like SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, and other enterprise systems, transforming it into usable formats, and ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Data Validation & Quality Assurance

This role involves developing testing scenarios, validating transformed data, and ensuring that every pipeline operates with high quality and reliability. You will troubleshoot issues, evaluate transformation logic, and ensure alignment with business requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

You will work with business owners, data analysts, and other IT teams to gather requirements, define data structures, and support analytic needs. Effective communication is essential to make sure that data models and pipelines meet user expectations.

Documentation & Process Improvement

Preparing detailed documentation for data models, ETL flows, and migration processes is critical. You will also contribute to continuous improvements in data architecture, automation, and pipeline optimization.

🧠 Required Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

• Strong understanding of database concepts, ER modeling, and both logical & physical data modeling.

• Expertise in Azure Data Factory, SQL Analysis Services, SAP BTP, and SAP Data Services.

• Deep proficiency in SQL, MS SQL, MySQL, and experience with big data tools like Hadoop, Cassandra, Storm.

• Strong scripting skills using Python, Bash, Shell, or Perl.

• Experience working with multi-terabyte datasets and scalable architectures.

• Familiarity with .NET is a plus.

Soft Skills

• Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong analytical thinking.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate complex requirements.

Qualifications

• Preferred certifications: Azure Data Engineer, SAP certifications, or Certified Data Engineer.

Experience

• Proven experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or big data environments.
