💼 About the Role — Test Engineer

As a Test Engineer, you will ensure the accuracy, performance, and reliability of UBS’s electronic trading systems and related financial applications. You will work in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams, supporting development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of trading platforms.

This role combines technical expertise, business understanding, and testing excellence to deliver high-quality solutions for global clients.

📌 Key Responsibilities

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts to ensure application functionality.

• Conduct comprehensive testing of electronic trading systems, including Equities, Fixed Income, ETFs, Derivatives, Structured Products, and Funds.

• Develop test plans, scenarios, and data sets based on business and technical requirements.

• Produce test reports and exit summaries, providing actionable insights and recommendations.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with developers, business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements.

• Communicate findings effectively and suggest improvements to software design and functionality.

• Coordinate with global teams across multiple time zones to ensure smooth delivery of solutions.

Process Improvement

• Continuously enhance testing methodologies, tools, and processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

• Participate in post-release reviews and contribute to quality best practices.

• Engage in root cause analysis for issues identified in production or during testing.

Technical & Functional Expertise

• Ensure testing aligns with FIX protocol, SWIFT standards, and Agile delivery frameworks.

• Work with CI/CD pipelines, version control tools like Git/GitLab, and test automation frameworks.

• Conduct testing across UNIX and Windows environments, leveraging domain knowledge in financial trading.

🎓 Qualifications & Skills

Required Technical Skills

• Programming: Java, Python

• Database: SQL proficiency (DDL/DML)

• Testing frameworks: JUnit, Mockito, TestNG, Selenium, Cucumber, or similar

• Tools: NOMAD, Consul, Git/GitLab, CI/CD pipelines

• Protocols: FIX, SWIFT

• Familiarity with Agile methodology and automated testing processes

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Certification in software testing (ISTQB, CSTE)

• Prior experience testing electronic trading systems
